An experienced British sword-swallower was taken to the hospital after ripping a four-inch hole in his esophagus during a show in northern England.
The performer, known as Hannibul Hellmurto, had difficulties when he swallowed an electric-powered glass tube filled with mercury during a show in Bradford, the Weston Mercury newspaper reported.
Miraculously, he finished his show, but collapsed after coming off stage and was rushed to the Bradford Royal Infirmary, where he spent three weeks receiving medical care.
Hellmurto, a former German tax official, could not swallow anything for five weeks and had to be fed through a tube while the hole in his esophagus healed.
But the 40-year-old daredevil did not let the incident stop him from working, and he returned to the stage this week.
A Chinese gamer has recently spent $16,000 for a virtual sword on a game that has not even been released yet in China.
“Age of Wulin,” by California-based company Snail Games, has not even been released for mainland China gamers yet but that isn’t stopping some from spending serious cash on the game.
The game is a role-playing one that is set in ancient China and is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game, or better known as MMORPGs.
The man is not alone in his purchases. A study released earlier in the year valued the virtual economy for MMORPGs is $3 billion.
I wish we had this much fun in our local Pizza Hut!

Lyubomir Todorov, 43 and Zaprian Lozanov, 61 are best friends but recently they had their friendship tested.
One day the duo were at Lozanov’s apartment just outside the city of Plovdiv, where the two had been getting hammered for most of the day.
Todorov decided to show off his martial arts skill and got out his samurai sword and started waving it around.
Zaprian Lozanov continues the story: ‘He told me he was a martial arts expert – he was whizzing it around his head.
‘I went to try and take it off him before he caused an accident – and then he slashed it in front of me.
‘I thought he’d missed but then I felt a burning pain and collapsed. He’d sliced the sword through my trousers and lopped off my penis.’
The police were summoned and Todorov was taken away and charged. He was given a six-year sentence over the incident. But this is not the end of the story.
Lozanov campaigned for his friend’s release from prison but with a catch.
He wants to get Todorov back into employment in order to raise the cash to pay for a brand, spanking new chopper.
‘People tell me I was noble to get him released but I want him to get a job so he can pay the compensation I am due,’ Mr Lozanov continued.
‘There is nothing I can do to change what has happened – it’s in the past. I just hope now that, by helping him, it will help me.’
