People thought that a man in Wisconsin moved away in 2007. They have now heard that he in fact killed himself, leaving his “nearly skeletonized body” to rot in his home for more than four years.
The discovery of David Carter’s remains occurred last month after his West Allis foreclosed home was handed over to the city due to unpaid property taxes.
Carter’s “nearly skeletonized body” was found on the home’s second floor and a handgun was found lying on his chest, according to the medical examiner’s report which concluded he died from a gunshot wound to the head.
41-year-old Carter likely died in late 2007 after quitting his job and telling friends he was moving to New Mexico, according to the newspaper.
No suicide note was found at the scene.
